There’s been a poll bracket going on YouTube for a while now about who’s the coolest Pokemon Gym Leader and the 2 finalists make sense but put together are fucking hilarious
Yakuza boss vs Greg from Sprint Mobile who will win
insane how many people just have these incredible artists in their families who get no recognition outside of crocheting circles because this art form is devalued for its association with women
in my country, the word for crocheting, is used metaphorically, to compliment a surgeon’s work.
every AFAB person my mother’s age and older, had practiced this craft at one point on another.
My mom has made literal paintings, that decorate our house for years (I’ll come back with pictures when I visit next) you can only see that they are crocheting when you go very close.
as promised here’s my mom’s crocheting “paintings”
There is another one but it had been stored many years ago, (i remember it from my childhood) and sadly it is probably damaged by mold, it depicted wild horsed running in nature
Facebook deleted this almost immediately. It’s almost like the ultrawealthy don’t want us knowing or talking about what’s at stake.

[A screenshot of a post by “The Other 98%.” The screenshot shows white text over a black background, and reads as follows:
“100+ days of striking means that we workers now have 100 fewer days to be able to earn our health insurance for next year. So the AMPTP– that’s the gang made up of your favorit places to watch stuff: Amazon, Apple, Disney, Netflix, etc– are not only deliberately trying to starve writers & actors and make us lose our homes (which are the actual words one CEO said out loud about why they were stalling the process!). By taking away the days of work that we need (and want!) to earn our health insurance, they are directly creating conditions for people to lose the support we need to stay healthy, and in some cases, even stay alive.
All because they don’t want to pay the people who make the shows that make them profit. Let that sink in. This is how corporations treat the workers who make them what they are. The do not care if we die.
If they get away with this, they will have broadcast to all the other corporations in the world that it’s possible to do it to every worker. You.
Please share this to your stories and raise awareness about what is at stake. It is about way more than re-runs and reality TV.”]
Some character designs with some…atypical color choices? I guess. I don’t know what’s going on in that area.
This is Nimona and her supervillain friend (He doesn’t have a name yet, I’m working on that). Nimona is his sidekick/squire, they’re like the Batman and Robin of slightly Medieval villains, but she’s actually way more evil than him. He does what he does to make a point, and he doesn’t really want anyone get hurt - Nimona just gets a kick out of destroying stuff.
I’m going to attempt to make a two page comic with them? We’ll see how this goes.
This was tagged #homework and posted in December 2011.
the “humans are inherently selfish” fanclub can genuinely and in all honesty go to hell. i once came back from a school yard where the kids had
heaped
piles of leaves and cut wildflowers on a narrow strip of grass bc a bee had
died. i actually want to cry.
when i was a child, my parents told me our houseplant would die of lack of sunlight. i was so young i don’t even remember this, but apparently, my response to this was starting to carry the plant around like an emotional support stuffed animal. whenever my family went outside i would hold the pot on my head to make it reach the sun better. i wasn’t in school yet, didn’t have any exposure to the lessons on caring they give in elementary, i don’t remember my thought process - but i can guess. kids integrally care about things, even tiny bugs and inanimate plants. humans care.
40,000 years ago, early humans painted hands on the wall of a cave. This morning, my baby cousin began finger painting. All of recorded history happened between these two paintings of human hands. The Nazca Lines and the Mona Lisa. The first TransAtlantic flight and the first voyage to the Moon. Humanity invented the wheel, the telescope, and the nuclear bomb. We eradicated wild poliovirus types 2 and 3. We discovered radio waves, dinosaurs, and the laws of thermodynamics. Freedom Riders crossed the South. Hippies burned their draft cards. Countless genocides, scientific advancements, migrations, and rebellions. More than a hundred billion humans lived and died between these two paintings—one on a sheet of paper, and one on the inside of a cave. At the dawn of time, ancient humans stretched out their hands. And this morning, a child reached back.
There’s a user called Erika Horn (@erikahorn.art) on tiktok who made a “duet me” challenge so technically impressive that all of the duets are exactly like this LMAO
